# Shopify

> Connect a Shopify store for supported SEO changes and article publishing.

Connect Shopify when the active Cleo site is a Shopify store. The connection lets Cleo work with supported store pages and articles without requiring WordPress credentials.

## Connect your store

1. Confirm that the active Cleo site uses the **Shopify** platform.
2. Open the Shopify connection during site setup or from the relevant connection prompt.
3. Enter or confirm the store's `myshopify.com` domain.
4. Sign in to the correct Shopify account and approve the requested access.
5. Return to Cleo and confirm that the store shows as connected.

  Connect only the store that belongs to the active Cleo site. Check the store domain before approving access, especially if your Shopify account manages multiple stores.

## Supported workflows

Depending on the site's plan and enabled tools, Cleo can:

* list supported Shopify pages and articles;
* read and apply SEO titles and meta descriptions;
* publish or update supported Quill articles;
* work with canonical URLs, Open Graph tags, crawler rules, site verification, and other supported technical SEO settings.

Some theme-level tools require additional Shopify theme access. Cleo labels those tools as unavailable or **Coming soon** until that access is enabled for the site.

## Publish a Quill article

1. Open the completed article in Quill.
2. Review its title, body, links, metadata, and cover image.
3. Choose **Publish to Shopify**.
4. Confirm the destination and publishing state.
5. Open the returned Shopify URL and verify the published article.

Shopify must be able to fetch a cover image from a public web URL. A local preview or file-only image may be omitted during publishing; review any warning Cleo displays before completing the release.

## Disconnect or troubleshoot

Disconnecting Shopify stops Cleo from reading or writing store content until the connection is restored. If an action fails:

* confirm that the active Cleo site and Shopify store match;
* reconnect if Shopify access was revoked or expired;
* verify that your Shopify account can manage the relevant content;
* check whether the tool requires plan access or Shopify theme access;
* retry only after reviewing the destination and proposed change.
