# Branding

> Teach Cleo your brand, voice, audience, positioning, proof points, and personas.

**Branding** is the shared source of truth Cleo uses when it writes, recommends, and evaluates work for a site. Strong brand memory makes outputs more specific and reduces repetitive briefing.

## The three areas

| **Brand** | Brand name, one-line description, offerings, audience, differentiators, proof points, and positioning. |
| **Voice** | Tone, writing principles, preferred language, and examples of how the brand should sound. |
| **Persona** | The people Cleo is writing for, including their goals, objections, and context. |

## Teach Cleo from source material

You can teach the brand from:

* A document such as a brand guide or positioning brief
* A public web page
* Text pasted directly into Cleo

Cleo proposes what it learned before changing the saved profile. Review the proposal and accept only the details that are accurate and current.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Branding">
    Select the site, expand **Orchestration**, and choose **Branding**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add a trusted source">
    Upload a document, enter a link, or paste source text. Avoid drafts that contain outdated claims.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review the proposal">
    Check names, offerings, audience, positioning, voice, and proof points. Remove anything Cleo should not reuse.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save and refine">
    Save the accepted changes, then complete any weak or missing fields shown by the memory-strength guidance.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Keep brand memory reliable

* Prefer approved brand documents and live website pages.
* Use specific proof points instead of unsupported superlatives.
* Update Branding after a repositioning, product launch, or audience change.
* Review voice examples before generating a large content batch.

<Tip>
  Branding is shared across Cleo's writing surfaces. Fix an inaccurate brand fact here instead of correcting the same fact in every draft.
