# Report Builder

> Design reusable, branded reports with Cleo data, text, tables, charts, and images.

**Report Builder** lets you create reusable report templates instead of relying only on a fixed export. Open **Reports**, choose a template, or start with a blank report.

## Build a template

    Open an editable template or create a blank one. System presets are read-only; duplicate a preset before changing it.

  <Step title="Add pages and widgets">
    Add KPI cards, charts, tables, text, images, and spacing. Widgets can be restricted when their data belongs to a feature outside the site's plan.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Configure presentation">
    Set paper size, orientation, margins, page numbers, report date, headers, footers, colour, and font.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Preview and save">
    Use the live preview to check the layout, then save the template with a clear reusable name.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Generate for a site and period">
    Choose the report scope and date range, then generate the final output.

## Available building blocks

* **KPI Card** for one important number
* **Chart** for movement or comparison
* **Table** for detailed evidence
* **Text** for interpretation and recommendations
* **Image** for logos or supporting visuals
* **Spacer** for deliberate layout rhythm

## Reporting principles

* Lead with outcomes and material changes.
* Compare like-for-like periods.
* Explain score changes instead of presenting them without context.
* Keep detailed evidence after the summary, not before it.
* End with decisions, owners, and next actions.
