Mentions tell you that a brand appeared. Citations tell you which sources supported the answer. Claims help you inspect what the answer said and whether the available evidence supports it.

Citation analysis

Use the citation view to answer:
  • Is your own site being cited?
  • Which third-party domains influence the answer?
  • Which engines cite you most often?
  • Are competitors earning citations for prompts where you are absent?
  • Is the set of sources stable or drifting?
The visibility funnel separates three different outcomes:
  1. Mentioned — the brand appears in the answer.
  2. Cited — a source associated with the brand supports the answer.
  3. Recommended — the answer frames the brand as a choice or action.
These are related but not interchangeable. A brand can be mentioned without receiving a citation, or cited without being recommended.

Claims

The Claims view organizes statements extracted from AI answers. Use it to find:
  • Accurate claims worth reinforcing
  • Unsupported or inconsistent claims
  • Outdated descriptions
  • Topics where the engine has weak evidence
  • Differences between engines or prompt variants

Investigate a questionable claim

1

Open the underlying answer

Read the full response and prompt context; a short extracted phrase can be misleading on its own.
2

Inspect cited sources

Determine whether the claim came from your site, a third party, or the engine’s uncited synthesis.
3

Check your source of truth

Compare the statement with the saved Brand profile and the current website.
4

Choose the right correction

Update an authoritative page, correct inconsistent brand information, or create a recommendation in Improvements.
