What Cleo is

Cleo is an AI-powered platform that helps you grow organic visibility across two surfaces:
  1. Traditional search engines (Google, Bing) — through SEO audits, on-page fixes, content, and technical health.
  2. AI answer engines (ChatGPT Search, Perplexity, Google AI Overview, Claude) — through GEO (Generative Engine Optimization), which measures and improves how often your brand is surfaced inside AI answers.
You manage one or more websites (called “projects” or “sites”) inside Cleo, run analyses on them, fix issues directly from the platform when integrations are connected, and track results over time.

Who Cleo is for

  • Marketing teams running SEO and content for one or several sites.
  • Agencies managing many client sites from a single workspace.
  • In-house operators who want both SEO health and AI-search visibility in one place.

Core concepts

  • Project / Site — a website provisioned in your Cleo workspace based on the plan you purchased. Most analyses, tools, and dashboards run against one site at a time. Adding new sites is done by purchasing the appropriate plan or by contacting the Cleo team — not from inside the app.
  • Client — a logical grouping for sites you manage (useful for agencies). One client can hold multiple sites. Provisioned with your plan.
  • Member — someone you have invited to your workspace.
  • Role — what a member can do. Global roles are Admin and Member. Per-project roles are Owner, Editor, and Viewer.
  • Tool — a specific action you can run against a site (for example: “Meta Tag Analyzer”, “Broken Link Checker”, “Generate Content”).
  • GEO query — a prompt you want to track across AI engines (for example, “best running shoes for flat feet”).
  • AI engine — an AI answer engine being tracked (ChatGPT Search, Perplexity, Google AI Overview, Claude).

What you can do in Cleo

  • See a cross-channel Scoreboard and coordinate work through plans and campaigns.
  • Audit and improve technical and on-page SEO, then track rankings over time.
  • Measure GEO visibility across supported AI answer engines, including prompts, citations, competitors, sentiment, and recommendations.
  • Manage local presence, social publishing and listening, reviews, leads, and supported ad channels.
  • Research, draft, approve, and publish long-form content with Quill.
  • Create and manage short-form video with Reels.
  • Connect CMS, analytics, search, social, CRM, email, notification, and repository platforms.
  • Turn findings into work and share stakeholder-ready Reports.

How the platform is organised

Cleo has two working levels:
  • Portfolio level — use Home and Clients to compare activity and performance across your workspace.
  • Site workspace — open one site to analyze, create, publish, coordinate, and report.
Inside a site, the navigation is grouped into Scoreboard, Orchestration, Channels, Studio, Operations, and Resources. Read Navigate Cleo for the current map. Your navigation is personalized. A feature may be hidden or locked when it is not included for the active site, has not been configured, or is unavailable to your role. See Plans and billing and Roles and feature access.
